Diskview is a little application. I really liked the way it modified the windows explorer to add its own toolbar and "folder view" (generally on the left side of explorer).
What it really does, at the first start, it scans all the drives we select and stores all the information about various folders and mayabe files into its database (which is really small). It modifies the Windows Explorer to add its own components. The bottm-most part shows a disc or a circle, like a pie chart showing the total size of folder we are in, with the names and sizes of the component files and folders.
The program has a really nice view. The only advantage is that we could visualize the size of our files and folders with respect to the total drive space. Also, it has the option of creating reports on the same matter. We could also create a screenshot of the pie chart of any folder. We can click the small "rescan" icon to rescan a folder.
The program can monitor S.M.A.R.T (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) enabled hard drives. SMART is a monitoring system for computer hard disks to be able to detect and report the reliability and performance of a hard disk, so that by analyzing that data, we can predict a failure before it happens. But this feature sometimes doesn't work with this program. It reports that the hard disk doesn't support SMART capability!
But the practical application / use is limited.
I would call it a funny application and a waste of money, to but it.
